Net Zero Journey Takes Euramax Solutions to Packaging Expo

Posted on: June 21, 2022

Leading PVCu window, door, and composite door manufacturer Euramax Solutions were visitors to the Packaging Innovations & Empack (PIE) show as part of the company’s journey to net zero.

The Modular Group Investments (MGI) company, which supplies to the modular and offsite construction, national builders’ merchants, new build and holiday home sectors, is continually adopting more sustainable working practices.

Euramax Solutions National Account Manager, Debbie Phillips, and Marketing Executive Aaron Mawi attended the event, which took place at the Birmingham NEC, and is the UK’s essential annual event driving business and innovation across the whole packaging journey.

Debbie explained: “As part of our journey to net zero we are looking into more sustainable ways that Euramax Solutions can use for its packaging, and it was fantastic to learn about the new materials and formats we could potentially use to help us accelerate our reduction in our carbon footprint.

“Recycling plays a central part in becoming more sustainable so we were particularly looking into the new recyclable options, and we will be looking into these in further detail.”

The biggest challenge for the packaging industry is undoubtedly sustainability and this has been a major driver for change over the few years with most new initiatives and pack changes considering the environment as a priority objective.

“Our industry faces a packaging challenge to solve if it is to become more sustainable and we have set our sights on tackling those challenges and meeting our environmental goals as part of our ESG strategy,” added Debbie.

“Packaging contributes to that and adopting more sustainable working practices will be crucial to support our continued drive to reduce carbon, which will in turn reduce costs.”
