JOB INFORMATION

Job Title: Design & Development Engineer
Department: Technical 
Location: Barnsley
Working Hours:  Monday to Friday 

 

REPORTING STRUCTURE

Reports to: Technical Manager
Responsible for:  N/A 

 

OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE

As a Design & Development Engineer you will implement and programme production software to be used within the factory environment. You will be using Business Micros and other software to programmes, design and assist the introduction of new products. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & REQUIREMENTS

This role is based within an office environment.

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION – TASK RELATED

  • Using software such as Business Micros, EvoNET and CAD
  • Analyse and elaborate the new products and/or concepts to be developed in consultation with the Technical Team
  • Capturing relevant information for the operating and user manuals to be made.
  • You will be required to preform end user programming as well as technical enquiries support. 

 

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING:

 

Essential:

  • Good working level of ICT skills on applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Qualified to GCSE grade A-C in Mathematics and English
  • Have strong IT skills and knowledge.
  • Trouble-shoot – Be confident in gathering and analysing information, recording and reporting the findings when needed. 
  • Liaise with all internal and external stakeholders will also be a main responsibility of the role.

EXPERIENCE:

 

Essential:

  • Software programming
  • Software programs, ideally Business Micros or Windowmaker or CAD
  • Working within a technical team
  • Manufacturing
  • Have relevant experience working within a similar role.

Desirable: 

  • Worked within a manufacturing environment within the construction industry
